Business Development Manager

Here at C&D we are currently looking for a business development manager to help maintain progress with Customers from previous years & to sell/hire the great range of products we have to offer.

The ideal Business Development Manager will ideally have worked in a sales role within forklift trucks before, with a proven track record in the industry. You will be a polished and presentable individual that holds a great level of confidence as well as being a team player. You will be proactive in your approach to selling and will have a solid understanding of equipment hire.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Research the market & formulate and implement a sales strategy to achieve agreed fork truck sales, service and hire targets; identifying opportunities with new, existing and lapsed customers
  • Develop a prospecting plan; ensuring agreed volume of calls are made and quality leads are generated and followed up on
  • Manage the existing client base, finding additional business opportunities
  • Schedule customers visits, conducting detailed site surveys, assessing equipment requirements, etc.
  • Provide a consultative sales approach in order to win new business in the hire and sale of material handling and related equipment
  • Construct quality proposals and quotations, fundamentally converting them into sales
  • Complete/manage all elements of the administration process relating to a customer order for products and services
  • Keep the CRM system updated; maintaining customer records, data, appointments, surveys, quotations, etc.
  • Undertake any special sales and marketing projects as directed by the company
  • Develop, update and improve product knowledge in order to increase opportunities for sales
  • Track activity undertaken/contact made on a weekly/monthly basis, providing progress reporting

What we’re looking for

  • Proven track record within the FLT or Plant Industry (1-2 years)Doosan b20x 7
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Full clean drivers licence
  • Competent with MS Office (word, excel, etc.)
  • Fantastic communicator with a real customer focus
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Positive attitude and flexible approach to work

We are looking for a full time Admin Assistant based at our office in Staplford, Hertfordshire.

Candidates must have previous experience, have good attention to detail, be able to work under pressure, organised team player and show initiative.

Main Responsibilities are

  • Respond to all incoming calls from customers and engineers
  • Allocate jobs to engineers in a timely and efficient manner
  • Preparing quotations and obtaining Purchase Orders from customers
  • Invoicing
  • Processing account information onto sage
  • Advise, assist & support Directors
  • Etc.
